We currently do not have anyone to send out the Duulles monthly events list. If anyone would like to take on this volunteer task, please let us know (either e-mail me directly, or e-mail the Dulles Planning list). In any case, the primary events these days appear to be the monthly CritMass book discussions, the monthly Duulles lunch, and the yearly Winter Escape. All these are posted as individual posts, so at least we've got that covered. (Not sure if the Winter Escape has been posted on the Duulles list yet.) The Arlington Fellowship X group (http://www.fellowshipx.org/), which is focused towards people born in the '60s and '70s, also has an events list that lists lots of additional events. If you know of any other YA or post-YA groups in this area that have events, please let us know (again, either e-mail me directly, or e-mail the Dulles Planning list). - Eric, http://www.InvisibleRobot.com/ _______________________________________________ duulles-announce mailing list duulles-announce at critmass.org http://lists.critmass.org/listinfo/duulles-announce From eric at invisiblerobot.com Tue Dec 12 20:15:47 2006 From: eric at invisiblerobot.com (Eric Carlson) Date: Tue, 12 Dec 2006 20:15:47 -0500 Subject: [duulles-planning] [duulles-announce] Fwd: Absolute Last Winter Escape registration announcement Message-ID: <457F5443.20401@invisiblerobot.com> I'm forwarding this Winter Escape announcement to the CritMass and Duulles lists, because I don't think it ever made it to those lists. -------- Original Message -------- From: I'm sorry to have to write yet another note, but there will be no more! Um... because I'll post information to a web page instead. The registration hit even more technical issues. It's a veritable infestation! We're cancelling it tonight, dropping that registration system, and making our own. Next time it opens, ===it will work===. For more information, check http://users.erols.com/pdahl/winterescape/registration.html Registration should open - for real - early next week. In case you somehow missed it, The Winter Escape is a winter retreat for UU YAs and GenXers held in the panhandle of Maryland, Presidents' Day weekend (Feb 16-19). Skiing, hot tubs, great food, great company, lots more. It's not glitch-free, but it runs a LOT smoother than you'd expect from the registration problems... http://users.erols.com/pdahl/winterescape/ Peter (very frustrated registrar) -------------------------------- _______________________________________________ duulles-announce mailing list duulles-announce at critmass.org http://lists.critmass.org/listinfo/duulles-announce From eric at invisiblerobot.com Fri Dec 15 15:58:06 2006 From: eric at invisiblerobot.com (Eric Carlson) Date: Fri, 15 Dec 2006 15:58:06 -0500 Subject: [duulles-planning] [duulles-announce] Book Discussion/Potluck, Jan 28 & Feb 25 Message-ID: <45830C5E.9000504@invisiblerobot.com> Critical Mass monthly Book Discussion/Pot-Luck dinner 6pm, Sun, Jan 28, 2006 at Eric & Heidi's new place Sterling, VA - The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, 1999, 213 pages - For directions, e-mail Eric, ecarlson at invisiblerobot.com 6pm, Sun, Feb 25, 2006 - PLAY READING: The Shape of Things by Neil LaBute, 2000, 138 pages Discussions are one Sunday a month at 6pm in Northern Virginia. As it turns out, I will not be able to attend because it was the only day I could arrange for my daughter to see her grandfather, and she hasn't seen him in quite a while. But I'm sure other folks in the group have it on their calendars and a good time will be had by all. All are welcome to attend and enjoy the Lebanese and Mediterranean fare this weekend, and I'll catch up with everyone next month!! At Jeannie's suggestion, this month's location will be trying somewhere different, and moving it a little later for the travel distance.
