All Souls Church Unitarian Universalist 1500 Harvard St. Washington DC 20009
The DRUUMM Youth & Young Adults Committee is organizing the 3rd DRUUMM Youth
& Young Adults conference bridging together Unitarian Universalist Youth and
Young Adults of Color, friends and Allies.
The DRUUMM Youth & Young Adults Conference will feature workshops,
activities, and worships. The Druumm activities are multidimensional,
mindful of diverse identities we bring to the community, and focus on
empowering and supporting people of color within Unitarian=20
Universalism. You'll have the opportunity to meet and interact with new and
old friends, discuss and exchange new ideas on how to strengthen our
community and overcome racism through resistance and by telling your stories
and hearing ours.

Youth and Youth Adult Anti-Racist White Allies Conference
March 27-30, 2003=20
UU Church of Silver Spring, Silver Spring, Maryland
How does having white skin give one privilege and power? How is this power
used and abused? How do we cultivate a community of white anti-racist
allies? How can anti-racist white allies become accountable to people
of color?
For three days this spring white UU youth and young adults will be meeting
to talk about how our faith community can start breaking down this privilege
in our churches and fellowships and the outside world. We will address
head on internalized racial superiority and work together to develop our
anti-racist analysis and create strategies for challenging racism.
This event is intended for people who have been introduced to an anti-racist
analysis, found it useful and are looking to continue this work. This is an
event for white youth and young adults dedicated to learning how to be
allies to communities and people of color.
This conference will be running parallel to the DRUUMM Youth and Young
Adults of Color conference also happening in the DC area. The two
conferences will be getting together, sharing and creating goals for the
future. This will be a working conference and there is the expectation that
people will continue with anti-racism work afterwards.
