Join us for the 2003 Winter Escape, Feb 14-17, 2003!

We're continuing the tradition of renting 5 nice houses at Deep Creek
Lake for President's / Valentine's Day Weekend, to be filled with a
whole bunch of us UU young adults enjoying good company, cozy fires,
skiing, hot tubs, games, excellent food, crafts, billiards/foosball, and
snowy hikes.
Deep Creek Lake is in the panhandle of Maryland, and is close to Wisp
for downhill skiing and state parks for cross-country. The only
scheduled activities are meals and events that houses come up with for
evening fun. On average, each house has 3 2-person beds, 2 1-person
beds and 1 or 2 sleeper sofas. A description of one of the houses is at
http://rentals.deepcreek.com/book/house.html?PMSUnitID=TAHOE
The cost is $90-110 (sliding scale: pay what you can afford). Each
participant will prepare (or help prepare) one meal, including
purchasing ingredients, and clean up one meal for their house.

Information and registration pages are up at
http://www.critmass.org/winterescape2003

Registering early improves your chances for a better room.

If you have questions, you can email Peter at pdahl@erols or Andy at

Youth and Young Adults of Color Conference, March 28-30, 2003 at
All Souls Church, Unitarian in Washington, DC

Those of us who attended the Youth and Young Adult of Color Conference in
Chicago in March of 2002 had the rare and wonderful opportunity to connect
with other Unitarian Universalist Youths and Young Adults of Color from
all over the country. We had a chance to share and exchange ideas as well as
our tears, laughter, and love. Each connection allowed us to deepen
our faith, awareness and identity as UUs of color.

On the weekend of March 28th, 2003, will we have the opportunity to
reconnect with old friends and make new friends, without having to
leave the Joseph Priestley District! All Souls Church in Washington,
DC will have the honor of hosting this special event. Please mark your
calendars... The Youth and Young Adult of Color Conference promises to
be an event you will never forget! Please pass this announcement to
others who may be interested, and also check http://www.druumm.org
for more details and registration.
